Hijinx Theatre in association with Blind Summit present Meet Fred, the story about the two foot tall cloth puppet that fights prejudice every day. Fred just wants to be part of the real world, to get a job and meet a girl, but when threatened with losing his Puppetry Living Allowance, Fred’s life begins to spiral out of his control.

“Striking visual inventiveness – Both funny and poignant”
British Theatre Guide
Meet Fred is utterly absorbing, surprising and provocative. It offers a different look at the politically charged subject of Disability Living Allowance and how it affects not just one small puppet, but everyone.
Join Hijinx Theatre for a post-show talk, learn about the creation of Meet Fred and how the challenges of puppetry with learning disabled actors shaped the show. Hosted by Chris Pirie of Green Ginger & Puppet Place.
